Find-A-Drug was established by a group of healthcare professionals who have had patients diagnosed with cancers that have newer treatments available.

The Doctors, Nurses, and Pharmacists who saw their patients struggling to access these newer medicines that could offer, if not a cure, then certainly an improved quality and quantity of life. There were two main causes of these difficulties for patients. Firstly price, and secondly local availability.

The healthcare professionals also saw their patients taking huge risks with their health, and money on websites offering access to medicines and prices that were too good to be true. As the old saying goes, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”. The healthcare professionals knew there must be a better way for their patients to access the medicines they needed safely and without the enormous financial cost. This is where Find-A-Drug sprang from.

Find-A-Drug’s first step was to find reliable, trustworthy generic pharmaceutical manufacturers. By establishing direct relationships with the manufacturers of medicines, they could be certain that the products were what it said on the package. Find-A-Drug also checks external regulator databases like the European Medicines Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration in the USA who maintain both a regime of quality inspection, and validation for manufacturers who want to supply their respective markets.

Find-A-Drug also works with Pharmacies in your jurisdiction to facilitate importation of medicines.  Most countries require some form of oversight of medicines importation.  Local Pharmacists have knowledge of the local regulations.  More importantly, local Pharmacists know how the local system works, and understand how to reduce snags and setbacks.  Local Pharmacies also handle payment for the medicines, so patients don’t have to send money to someone they don’t know, usually in a distant country.
