Axitinib is used for kidney cancer called renal cell carcinoma that is advanced, often after an earlier treatment has stopped working.

It can also be used with immunotherapy as a first treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma in some treatment plans.

Usual adult dose range: 2mg to 10mg twice daily; the usual starting dose is 5mg twice daily, with increases or reductions based on tolerance and blood pressure.
