Eltrombopag is used to raise platelet counts in chronic immune thrombocytopenia when earlier treatments have not worked well enough.

It is also used in some people with severe aplastic anaemia and, in selected settings, to support treatment of hepatitis C-related low platelets.

Usual dose range: 12.5mg to 150mg once daily depending on the condition, age, ancestry, liver function, platelet response, and local approval.
