Sunitinib is used for gastrointestinal stromal tumour that has spread or cannot be removed by surgery after imatinib has stopped working or is not tolerated.

It is used for advanced renal cell carcinoma and, in some cases, after kidney surgery to lower the chance of high-risk renal cell carcinoma coming back.

It is also used for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours that are advanced, well differentiated, and cannot be removed by surgery or have spread.

Usual adult dose range: 25mg to 50mg once daily, either continuously or on a 4-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off schedule depending on the cancer type.
